I believe all forms of art in some way tell a story – stories that connect us through our shared human experiences and emotions. The best of stories evoke these shared emotions and hopefully touch us on a personal level. As a photographer, a successful photo for me is one that perhaps reflects a chapter of the viewer’s own story or compels them to feel the emotional impact of someone else’s experience.

I have been inspired by the Impressionistic painters and have sought to achieve a painterly quality in much of my work, not only with a particular subject matter, but also by utilizing post production techniques. Many of my floral and landscape images seek to evoke calm, serenity and peace in a world that continually challenges us with negative stimuli.
