Music has always been at the core of everything that I do and has brought the greatest joy to me in my life. I’m honored to share that joy with you.

Madeleine Hart is a versatile artist based in the Twin Cities, known for her work as a musician, songwriter, photographer and videographer. Her music is characterized by lyrical depth and a blend of musical influences including folk, country, rock and Americana. She has carved out a niche in the Twin Cities music scene with her distinctively rich, alto voice and heartfelt lyrics. Her music is available on all major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora and Bandcamp, allowing her to reach a wide audience.

Hart has released three albums and several singles. Her most recent single, “Howl at the Moon,” (released June 30, 2024), reflects her evolving musical style. Other notable releases include “Common as the Rain” (2024), “Me and the Moon”, (2021), and “St. Christopher” (2017). Hart emphasizes the importance of the songwriting process, describing it as a combination of inspiration and well-honed songwriting skills. She expresses gratitude for her mentors in the field and finds joy in sharing the creative process with other artists, regardless of the media.

In addition to her music career, Hart is also passionate about photography and videography, which complements her artistic expression. Through her multifaceted talents, she engages with her audience not only through sound but also through visual storytelling, creating a rich and immersive experience for her followers. Her inspiration to combine music and photography stems from the deep emotional connections and creative parallels shared between the two art forms. Hart’s music enhances her visual storytelling, influencing her choices in composition and subject matter. Her photography primarily focuses on macro and landscape themes, aiming to evoke calm and serene emotions that tell stories through her images. She believes that art connects people through shared human experiences, and strives to connect with viewers on a personal level, one that reflects their own experiences and emotions. She often draws inspiration from Impressionistic painters to achieve a painterly quality in her work.

The process of songwriting is a unique experience for each person who pens a tune, whether as the lyricist, the musical composer, or both. I’ve always loved the title of Jimmy Webb’s book “Tunesmith”. For me, it expresses how we are craftsmen, whether our songs emerge from inspiration or are the result of intention and purpose. I still don’t fully understand the source of inspiration, but I am grateful for each and every visit from the muse. The craft of songwriting is one that I believe can be developed and finely honed, and I’ve had the honor of learning from the very best. I only hope my mentors know how grateful I am for every door they have opened. There is no greater joy than to share the creative process with other artists, regardless of their medium.

Madeleine
